The Intelligent Science and Technology Major is established in direct response to the national strategic priority of "Artificial Intelligence + Education." As an engineering discipline, it offers a comprehensive training pathway from data intelligence to cutting-edge applications, with a particular emphasis on AI engineering applications and system development. The major places strong emphasis on practical competence, engineering proficiency and technological innovation, demanding a high level of applied and hands-on ability from its students. It is ideally suited to those with an interest in artificial intelligence, robotics and intelligent software development, who possess strong practical skills and a genuine enthusiasm for programming, and who wish to pursue careers in AI engineering, intelligent system development and software research and development.
The major is supported by substantial academic strength, underpinned by three national-level "Artificial Intelligence + Education" projects. Students have full access to the University of Stirling's Canvas learning platform, online library resources and international research projects. Over 80% of core professional modules are taught by international academic staff from the University of Stirling, ensuring the curriculum remains fully aligned with the latest global developments. Graduate employment rates for related majors have risen steadily over the past three years.
