New students of the 2026 intake from across China arrived at the Stirling Digital Education College (SDEC) at Hebei Normal University on 1 September 2026, ready to embark on a new academic journey defined by international vision and digital innovation. The campus glowed in the morning light, with bilingual welcome signs on every side, faculty and volunteers offering warm greetings, and intelligent technology adding a futuristic touch to the registration experience.

College leaders, teaching staff and student volunteers arrived early to prepare for registration day. Well-organised registration areas, clear bilingual signage and attentive volunteer services helped new students find their way with ease. Volunteers carried luggage and guided them through each step, while teachers patiently answered questions from students and parents about Sino-foreign curricula, career pathways and campus life. Warm greetings and thoughtful support, blending genuine care with an international educational ethos, put every newcomer at ease.
A highlight of the welcome event was the newly launched AI welcome robot, a vivid demonstration of the College's commitment to digital innovation and international education. Moving among the crowd, the robot delivered bilingual announcements and answered questions in both English and Chinese. A lively 'Welcome to Stirling!欢迎新同学' rang out again and again, as the robot waved to attendees and posed for photos with delighted newcomers. The warmth of traditional welcome events blended seamlessly with cutting-edge digital technology, giving students an immediate sense of the College's innovative and globally connected character.
A bilingual themed photo wall drew large crowds of new students, who stopped to sign their names and take photos with creative hand signs, capturing their first moments on campus against a backdrop of slogans celebrating their digital future. Registration proceeded in an orderly manner, with efficient identity verification, document submission and welcome pack distribution. Each welcome pack carried the College's best wishes for students to build strong academic foundations, sharpen their digital skills and broaden their international horizons. College leaders and teachers also met with parents, offering detailed explanations of the Sino-foreign cooperative education model, faculty composition and academic training system, building a warm bridge between home and university. Through it all, volunteers stood fast in the summer heat, guiding new students from the campus gate to registration and onwards to their accommodation, their attentive company dispelling any sense of strangeness and helping every new student quickly feel at home in the SDEC community.

The welcome event marks a successful start to the new academic year for the 2026 intake. The University wishes all new students every success in their studies, and looks forward to supporting them as they develop their skills and pursue their career goals at SDEC.
